Our Build Process
Start to finish
Step 01
Procurement of your Vehicle
We begin by searching for authentic, structurally solid and correctly titled donor vehicles with low miles.
Step 02
Strip Down Process
Your Land Rover is stripped down to the steel frame is put on a custom jig and checked. All chassis are cleaned and waxoiled.
Step 03
Engine & Mechanical
We strip down each engine completely and then closely examine every core component before rebuilding it and testing it
Step 04
Bodywork & Paintwork
We paint and prepare each part of the vehicle such as the roof, doors, fenders etc. separately... to ensure quality
Step 05
Interior Assembly Process
Interior refurbishments include an in-depth soundproofing new seats and carpeting – as well as freshly repainted panels.
Step 06
Photography & Delivery
Throughout the entire process, we will document and photograph the build

Design your Dream Defender

Step 02
Strip Down Process
Your Land Rover is stripped down to the steel frame is put on a custom jig and inspected. It is re-aligned to factory specification. All chassis are jet washed, steam cleaned and waxoiled. Finally, it’s Raptor-coated for resistance to corrosion.
Our Mechanical Team Dan Lee, Tom and Jack can assemble all the drivetrain components with new parts which avoid any potential breakdowns in the future.
Part of this service is the axles which are often neglected and are one of the key elements in providing improved steering. Furthermore, new suspension, break lines, front and rear differential.
Step 03
Engine & Mechanical
Our team has earned its enviable reputation using three choices of power-plant:
- the four-cylinder 200Tdi turbo diesel
- 300Tdi turbo diesel
- 3.5-litre V8 gasoline
These are very low-stressed engines, designed for a life of toil and minimum maintenance.
We strip down each engine completely and then closely examine every core component before rebuilding it and testing it to the highest standards.
All worn-out gearbox internals and clutches are replaced, even during a full gearbox rebuild. Our team checks the gearbox inside and out, only using high-quality British-made parts.
Step 04
Bodywork / Paintwork
The Defender silhouette begins to emerge as next we assemble your truck’s brand new bodywork and paintwork. Our paint specialist Aaron his team spend over 100 hours sanding back to bare metal, then prepping, priming and inspected before applying your special color.
We paint and prepare each part of the vehicle such as the roof, doors, fenders etc. separately and make sure when they’re reassembled, they align perfectly.
Our expert team coats your vehicle with a primer coat and two or three top coats before applying the paint colour you want.
We can offer you access to a variety of paint colors and finishes, including traditional Coniston Green or striking Portofino Red. Virtually any color you want is available and we can add effects like mica, metallic, or Raptor.
Step 05
Assembly
Assembly is where your dream car turns into a reality.
We take our electrical installations seriously and always ensure reliability, safety and quality.
Interior refurbishments include
- an in-depth soundproofing
- new carpeting
- freshly repainted panels
- New front and rear seats (Your choice of colors )
- new rubber seals
- new windows
- new tires and wheels
- interior panels
- roof lining
- door hardware updated
Step 06
Photography & Delivery
Throughout the entire process, we will document and photograph your build with regular updates sent to you.
Upon completion, your new CJ Defender is drive to our special location which we take professional photographs are taken.
We take care of registering the Defender – which includes
- shipping
- import agencies & taxes
- an American title
- registration assistance
